Making Flossing Easier

We get it, flossing isn’t the most fun part of the dental hygiene regimen. The floss itself can be hard to manage, you have to reach inside your mouth to get in all the nooks and crannies, and it adds that much more time to your morning/nightly routine. However, it’s still important to floss at least once a day.

If you’re brushing your teeth twice a day, you’re already doing well. A toothbrush is necessary to remove most of the plaque that naturally builds up on your teeth. Toothpaste helps, and additives like fluoride, baking soda, and whitening agents further brighten your smile and reduce damaging bacteria in your mouth. However, there’s a huge drawback to just brushing: the spaces between your teeth and under the gum get ignored, which leaves space for plaque build-up, and makes it more likely for cavity development or gum infection.

Dr. Edwards has a solution: a flosser you can find in your local superstore! The Phillips Sonicare Airfloss Ultra is small and easy to use, using water (or mouthwash for a deeper clean) to get in between your teeth and clear out the plaque and bacteria build-up. It takes some getting used to, but you’ll be able to feel the same kind of freshness at home that you achieve at your dental appointment.
