Why in-house surgery matters
Keeping extractions, wisdom teeth, biopsies, and grafting here when appropriate means your records and your restorative plan stay connected. If a site later needs an implant or a different restoration, the same practice already has the context.
You will be cared for by Dr. Will Edwards and Dr. Lauren Lindsey. Dr. Edwards grew up in Rome and holds a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI). Dr. Lindsey grew up in Cedartown, has been part of this office since 2020 before dental school, and practices here after her May 2026 DMD. Two dentists means more scheduling flexibility around the rest of your care.
Wisdom teeth and extractions: what to expect
Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out, and not every extraction is the same. An exam and records come first. We will explain what we see, whether removal is the right step, and how comfort options fit the visit.
If you are anxious about surgery, say so when you book so we can plan accordingly.
If it hurts today
Call as soon as possible. Even new patients: we address the immediate problem first, then schedule a standard new-patient exam. Mention tooth pain, a broken tooth that cannot be saved, or swelling when you call.
Comfort options
If you need calm for surgery, we offer an oral sedation pill. A driver is required. Full steps for the pill visit are on the sedation page. Ask when you schedule so we can plan the visit correctly.
How surgery connects to the rest of your dentistry
After an extraction or grafting, you may need a temporary solution, a denture plan, or an implant conversation. Same-day crowns, root canals, and preventive care live in the same practice.
